    Default Good Reads

Ok, so I FINALLY finished The Other Side of the Story and the best I can say is that I finished it. It took me 3 weeks to read it! I Never take that long to read a book.
Right now I'm reading The Devil Wears Prada. V. funny book. The only problem is I keep reading at night when I'm zonked anyway and my eyes go blurry when I start to read. LOL
    What are you reading?

Finished Devil Wears Prada. It was a little slow moving. Think I'll re-read Prisoner of Azkaban. By the time I finish that it will be about ready to go to the cheapy movies.

I just finished reading Bet Your Bottom Dollar by Karin Gillespie. She writes about a fictional town in SC and some IRL places in Augusta. I knew all of the real places since I was born and raised just 45 minutes from Augusta.

It's her first novel and I really enjoyed it.

I just finished Ten Big Ones by Janet Evanovich, Killer Smile by Lisa Scottoline and Dress your family in corduroy and denim by David Sedaris. I loved them all. David Sedaris is so funny but you have to be pretty liberal to read him and not be offended easily. I just love his books.

I have just started The Jane Austen Book Club by Karen Joy Fowler. I've been on the library waiting list for it for months and so far it seems well worth the wait. I got a kick out of one of the characters, Bernadette, who said that at 67 she was officially "letting herself" go. "'I just don't look in mirrors anymore," she announced, "I wish I'd thought of it years ago."
    I can relate to that!!

I've just finished PMS Outlaws by Sharyn McCrumb. It's a mystery and I did love it. I could relate to both the good guys and the bad guys in this one.

I just read God Rest Ye Grumpy Scroogeymen: New Traditions for Comfort & Joy at Christmas by Laura Jensen Walker & Michael K. Walker earlier this week. Nothing earth shattering in it, but it was a fun read that only took a couple of hours.

Just finished "The Secret Life of Bees." It was OK, but rather predictible. I'm also reading "The Words We Live By" which is an annotated guide to our Constitution. Very, very good...and i'm getting downright smart, LOL! I'm also reading "I Dream of Microwaves" which is a short story collection that's getting rave reviews, and I have a few of those Gooseberry Patch books checked out from the library as well (to "borrow" ideas, LOL!)

I always have a number of books going at once, and I love reading reviews. So many books, so little time!
