Does it annoy you when books have discrepancies?

I find this very annoying. Maybe I am just too picky. lol

Last week I reread "Small Town Girl" by LaVyrle Spencer. Near the begining of the book it mentions that they play a tape in the moms car. Later on in the book it says there is no tape deck in the moms car.

It seems like I am always finding little discrepancies in fiction books. Shouldn't the editors find something like that?

I haven't read that one yet (only Then Came Heaven and That Camden Summer), but I will watch for that when I read it.

I get annoyed when I find typos in books that I read.

I notice this too. One of my favorite books has the main characters making tea on one page, and drinking coffee out of the same mugs two paragraphs later. Really annoys me, as do the typos, and if there are repeats of the same words in the middle of the sentence, where you know that they were editing, and just got sloppy. GRRRRRRRR.
