Netflix
Anyone here get DVDs from Netflix?? We joined about a year ago and love it--so convenient and great selection. We've watched so many movies that we'd never have thought of before Netflix. Just finished The Paradine Case which is an ooooold
Alfred Hitchcock murder mystery.

Hi Florence!
I've been wondering about Netflix and how it starts. I always have a house full of teenagers watching movies, so I spend alot at Blockbuster.
Can you tell me some more about how it works? Thanks!

You pay a flat fee of $23.80 per month for an unlimited number of DVD's that come by mail. You get a total of 3 at a time and as soon as you return by its own prepaid mailer any one, you get the next one from your queue. (I currently have 62 in my queue!!LOL) There are never any late fees and you can keep any of them as long as you wish (but you can only have a total of 3 at a time.) You can have more but the monthly fee is increased; since it is just DH and me at home now, 3 is plenty. If one arrives damaged, you return it and notify Netflix via their website and they send you a replacement at no charge. If one is lost in the mail, just notify them and they sent a replacement; that has only happened to us once. It was Diana in Wisconsin (another Newbie here) who introduced me to Netflix. Check them out at www.Netflix.com. Happy viewing!!Originally posted by mustang80

I'm a "Netflixer," too. I got so tired of my guys renting films then not returning them on time. They were nickle and diming me to death in that area!
www.netflix.com You can check them out and see if they'll work for you. I like to read the reviews there, then sometimes just reserve films from the library as well. We watch a lot more films in the winter months up here, but it's still a good deal all the way around. No trips to the store, no gas wasted, not late fees, pre-paid return mailers. It's awesome.
Like Florence, I've discovered lots of "gems" that I never would've seen had I relied on my local (boring) rental place. I've been on a foreign fillm kick for the past year. And with Netflix I can also monitor things Sonny wants to watch to see if they're appropirate or not. I mean, he is 17 now, but sometimes I still put my foot down on what can come into my home because I'm one of those "Mean Moms," LOL!

Another netflix fan here!!
I just got Rear Window An oldie-but I have never seen it. We use it alot and have always been very pleased with the selection.
Much better than our one video store here in town. And so much more convenient. The video store is about 5 miles from my house, while my mailbox is only at the end of the driveway. I love Netflix!!

We've been using Netflix for about 6 months now and we love it!!
I love that we don't have to go the movie store and try to find a movie! Then have to return the next day, etc, etc, etc!! lol

It is very fast, 2-3 days at most. The trick is to have a nice queue of movies so that there's always one to be shipped as soon as they receive your return. No trips to Blockbuster at 10PM to avoid a late fee!!

Most of the time mine are in my mailbox within 1 or 2 days from mailing. Once in a while it takes a little longer, but usually they are very, very quick!

I hope you enjoy it as much as we have. I just returned Othello which I didn't like but my husband, the Shakespearean of the family, really did. My next three are Lagaan, Mrs. Brown, and The Caine Mutiny. What do you have coming first??

I thought of joining as well. Steve doesn't watch many movies,so it'd just be me watching them mostly.
Can you add movies to your list at any time..?
If you belong to My points and thinking of signing up..they give 500 points

You can add movies to you list any time.
The best way is to make a big list and then as soon as you return one you get a new one
We use it and are very happy with it!

I see where Blockbuster is going to start a similar service. Good old capitalist competition will keep everyone on their toes and the prices down...I hope...
