Question Did anyone see this on the news yesterday

HIV diagnosis wrong after 8 years

SAN FRANCISCO, California (AP) -- A California man who once tested positive for the virus that causes AIDS has learned the diagnosis made eight years ago was mistaken and he was never infected.

I can't imagine either Deb. I feel for him and his family and all they've been thru over the years.

The clinic performed its own HIV test on Malone to confirm the first set of results and it came back negative, but that information was never shared with the patient, Pridmore said.

Why, why, why wouldn't they tell him the results of the second HIV test that came back negative.

Hmmm... wouldn't he have been continually been going through testing all these years to confirm stage progression for appropriate medications? And wouldn't they have seen that those results were too HEALTHY to need those medications and raise some questions?

    **SEVEN YEARS LATER...***
"We're sorry it's taken us so long to call you, Mrs. Smith, but upon a second examination, we realized that you actually had a baby boy, not a girl as we had stated on the birth certificate. We did notice this back then, however, the staff felt that at the time, it was strictly "need to know" information. Er, sorry."
And so began Tina's uh, I mean, um Tony's long journey through the therapists listed in his parents' HMO hand book.
