Has anyone read the cake mix doctor?
The Cake Mix Doctor

It looks like an interesting read.

Is that the lady who makes fancy cakes just adding stuff to regular cake mixes? I saw her on a morning show last week and I thought she had terrific ideas. Thanks for reminding me. I'm going to go see if my library has the book.

I received the book for a birthday gift last year from a friend. I haven't tried anything yet, but my friend insists that the cakes are wonderful. Thanks for reminding me that I had it. I will have to dig it out and try one of the recipes.

I checked that out from the library a while back and there were lots of yummy looking recipes in it (though I haven't made any of them).
There is also a website.......

There are some great recipes on the site that are easy to make. I want to try the pound cake recipe. They have a free newsletter that comes out every other month. I am going to subscribe to it. I had not heard of the Cake Doctor before this. Thanks for the info.

I saw it at Sams the other day. It looked pretty neat, maybe I'll look for it at the library.

Omigoodness, this is my FAVORITE cookbook. I plan to get one for every female I know for Christmas this year; it's the best. One of my favorites is the "Darn Good Chocolate Cake". Also, the one she shows on the cover is what I use now for my 16-layer fudge cake. I buy cheapie Sav-a-Lot cake mixes ($.69) and I actually SELL these cakes for $25.00 so they must be good :>)

The Cake Mix Doctor was on Good Morning, America a couple of months ago and some of her recipes were posted. They look great and so easy to make. Her website looks like a good resource for an elegant and frugal dessert.
