    Angry Hunting murder

Have you heard about this? I am not sure if it is just a local story or if it has gone out further.

We don't know the whole story but so far it sounds like the guy is a cold blooded killer.

Yes Kim, it was even on our local news tonight.

What a sick man! Those poor people.

What is this world coming to? Scary.

Just saw the victims names released. One is a friends cousin and uncle. So tragic and senseless We wondered why we didn't get our daily call from the friend today to compare hunting notes.

This is terrible. I don't know what is up with some people. Case in point: Saturday, DH went out to hunt when the season opened again here in TN and someone had stolen his deer stand and taken an axe to his hunting buddy's stand. He and his cousin wanted to go look around and see if hey could find the folks that did it, but FORTUNATELY their 4 wheeler messed up. When he got home and told me, I told him it was a good thing they didn't go look. I told him "You don't go looking for armed nutjobs out in the middle of the woods"!!! After all, you never know what some people will do.

My prayers are with the families of the victims.

I don't get it... lemme see if i have this right.

The victims either own or know who own the private land. They were hunting on the private land.

The suspect darted in on an ATV, got onto their deer and opened fire on them?

mrsengeseth no you have it wrong (or I linked wrong)

8 people in a hunting party on one guys privet land. One out walking (we don't know why really) came upon a guy on the land in a stand (something must have happened) walking guy gets shot and has a walky talky and calls back to the cabin/shack more come out to help and get shot. The last ones to show up grab some of the injured (the ones that don't look dead already) and drive 20 miles to the nearest gas station (none had a cell can you believe it) to call the police. Shooter flees in the mean time and police catch him a few hours later. It was 7 men and one woman who were shot.

The shooter is mung(sp?) and now says he was shot first at and racial slurrs were said.

The survivors say he shot first . Only one in the hunting party had a gun on them at the time.

No actual deer were involved, at least that is the info I have now.

No one except the shooter and the survivors REALLY know what happened. It is hard to say, without having been there. He was on someone's private property. Who knows what was said to him when he was ordered out of the tree stand? He may have thought they were going to kill him. Who can say what goes through a person's mind when they are surrounded by angry hunters? It was a tragedy, for sure.

This is such a horrible story. People are still talking about it here.

I can't imagine how afraid they all were!

    Very sad!
