The Patriot
I started watching the Patriot the other night, it ws on HBO, husband was working late, and the plot sounded interesting. It is about a father of 7 during at the beginning of the Revolutionary War who did not feel that fighting the British was in his best interests.. no need to trade one ruler, King George, for 3000 rulers here. He ended up having his mind changed for him.
The movie was rated R, so I expected violence, but I was not confortable with the savageness of the attacks, or the blood spattering on the soldiers standing next to the one shot.... and just the goreyness of the movie.
I decided to scrap that movie, and play a video instead.
Patriot is not for the squeemish.

I enjoy the Patriot, they just show what happen in real life back then. But it really bother me when that guy killed that very young boy. No wonder his father did what he did. I think I would have freak out too if the child would have been mine.

I enjoyed the movie (got it from the library a few weeks ago), but I agree that it was just too bloody and gorey. I found myself covering my eyes and turning my head away quite often during the movie.

MY DH and I really enjoyed the Patriot....
MY DH and I really enjoyed the Patriot !! You are right in saying that it is not a good movie for the people who tend to get really sick to there stomach with all the bloody messes!!
I think it is a pretty good no historical but a little bit of Historical movie !!
My DH and I plan on buying a DVD player and when we do the Patriot will mostly likely be the very first DVD we buy!!

Yeah it was very graphic but it's hard to find movies that aren't or don't have a LOT of sex or profanity in them.... . We loved the Patriot and will watch it again I'm sure...but you're right it's gorey.
