    Default National western Stockshow!!

OUr stockshow is going right now !! I hope we get to go this year but its up to whether Kip will take mom for a bit cuz I will not take her to the show - too much beef and ropin and muttin bustin and all those things that will set her off - anyone else her enjoy the stock shows and the rodeos?? I hope to get two Suffolk Lambs and two goats!! ANd one day I would like time to have a perfect little black and white paint !! Bruce wants a Mustang but he has never ridden and doesn't know how twitchee they are  - and Aimee wnats a small Arab but she's gonna have to do a whole lot more room cleaning before she gets that kindof responsibilty - Damon and Ryan just want ATVs!

The homeschooling group had a sign up sheet to go to this but we didn't sign up. I wondered what it was all about, but we just couldn't swing the trip.

Oh man Missy - It rocks for little kids - Erick and hannah would love it- they have petting zoos and huge cows and bulls that the kids can walk right up to - there are sheep and goats, loads of chickens and rabbits - 4H is there - muttin bustin rodeo clowns, pig racing. They make butter and do pioneer skills and have trout ponds - its really awesome. I have takin the kids every year since they were just hatched and Bob is taking them this year -
sometimes the cowboys let the kids practice roping or brushing in the private stalls and they can milk and do science stuff - it is truly a great experience - It might be a little olfaric if you are pregnant though !!

It is really fun for the kids. I love stockshows, but I guess that is the country girl in me. The one in our county is in Feb. The school usually takes a field trip to it.

I have a nephew who rides steers now. He is 11. He started out with muttin bustin. He plans on riding bulls in the future. His sister barrell races. She is a senior this year and is getting into to college by winning scholarships at high school events.
