We finally have a restaurant
Our small town of 450 just opened a new restaurant. Its called the Red Door restaurant and actually has a red door. Not sure what is being served up as of yet, but the locals have all been dropping in. Cars are lined up all down the main street now, all 7 of them!!

We've been without a restaurant for about 6 months. I'm sure the novelty will wear off but for now it means another business has opened up here, when a few other ones are on the brink of closing down.

WOOHOO!
i remember what that was like as a child in a VERY rural little town... and we got our first EVER restaurant.
The novelty didnt wear off until after a year or so... then it just became the town's "meeting up" place!

I hope that it goes well!

When I was growing up in a small town with just one stoplight, there were only a couple of restaurants, each with unique character. Now that same town has many stoplights and tons of chain restaurants....it just isn't the same!

I hope your little restaurant does well. I live in a small town too and it's sad when you see a business close.

Oh, that just reminds me SO much of the town where my grandma lived. When they finally got a gas station with a little convienience store attached, the whole town was there. She wrote to everyone in the family telling us all about it, and joking about the excitement in her "big city". Thanks for bringing back a happy memory for me... I've been missing my grandma a lot lately. :hugs:
I hope the new restaurant does well.... and you'll have to let us know if you get a chance to try it out!
