    Thumbs up Santa Ana's anyone???

To the fellow Southern Cali ladies, do any of you like the santa ana winds??? They fascinate me, i didnt have wild winds like this in Pittsburgh. It's one of the few times the stars are so clear and pretty and the mountains look beautiful when there are no storm clouds on them. I just thought i'd ask cause they are kicking up pretty good here in Arcadia tonight. Dont get blown away!

I'm in Pasadena and they were strong last night. I like the wind, just not the palm fronds everywhere!

Yesterday afternoon the strangest thing happened re the winds. I had just come inside and about 5 minutes later i hear a strong wind outside, it knocked over the pool furniture and threw some things around then just disappeared. My neighbors and i went out and were like HUH?? what was that?? it was like an invisible tornado went thru here. Strange.

I am in the San Fernando Valley. I HATE the Santa Anas, but then so much of the time when they blow it's that darned BLAST FURNACE effect!!!!! Today and yesterday it has just whipped around in the most annoying way, finally settled down this evening.

Hey, did any of you guys catch the butterflies?? There is some sort of mass butterfly migration right now (painted ladies?) and when I went out at noon today they were fluttering everywhere in vast numbers.

Oh my gosh, YES YES YES to the butterfly's !!!!!! I think it's amazing !!! I've never seen so many in all my life! I was able to walk right up to one this morning and actually touched it a couple of times before it flew away. I'm trying to enjoy it while it lasts. I only wish i could videotape it somehow

I know what you mean about the San Fernando Valley being a blast furnace. I dont know how you live out there!!! LOL My Dh works in the San Fran Valley.

Sorry to hear about the satelite dish. The winds have no mercy.

The butterflies were painted ladies. There was a small mention of them in sundays star news. It said a population explosion in Mexico will cause massive migrations, as seen this year. They are not too many left around here. That was a neat experience.
