at the end of the broadcast tonight, he spoke about it briefly mentioning he'd been a smoker, quit, started up again during 9-11, and I believe quit again. The way he said it was matter of fact and in my opinion brave of him to say so. I mean we all know anchors have their own lives, but i guess (imo) we see them as being perfect, without flaw. His voice was gravely and deep. from the cancer or emotion I couldn't tell. He did say he'd be starting chemo soon and that he'd continue to report as he could. I hope for him a speedy recovery and a quick path to remission (is that right, when cancer goes into remission, it isn't active, right?).
