I saw that, do you really think that it will help with energy consumption? People tend to work longer hours when there is more daylight so there will still be traffic on the road from commuters.. I just don't see where it will lessen our consumption

I like it the "normal" time. Sun comes up in the morning to start your day and goes down in the early evening to lull you towards bedtime. I hate it when the sun is still blazing when I want to sleep lol. Sun goes down, I get my jammies on... relax...yes I go to bed early.

I agree with Darlene. I'd much rather than standard time.
Saskatchewan stays that way all year round. Although its confusing at times when you want to call someone there, you get use to it. We lived there for 2 years and I loved that I never had to change my clock.

Wanted to add, I too don't see where it saves anything.

I must be the odd ball.....I love that its not dark until 8 or later

Especially when I was working. I would either get off at 5 or 7 and I never wanted to do anything because it was dark

I prefer standard time, too. I just can't figure the savings. Maybe I'm dense.

Kathryn, I love daylight saving time too. When it is dark outside, I sit in front of the tv or computer. But if it is light, then I walk or work in the garden. I think it could potentially save energy -- just from tvs not being on!

You're not the only one! I love, love, love the daylight late in the evening.
I wish it would stay that way year round!

Doesn't it just make you feel more energetic and HAPPY?!! I count the days, practically, from the end of daylight savings time until it begins again in the spring.Originally posted by QuilterMom

I prefer standard time, but I can see where it is saving on like my electric bill and such. I don't have to use lights until much later in the evening. I don't know if it's the electric they are speaking about, but it does save me that much. I hate that it's still bright at my kids' bedtime, though. They don't want to go to bed because it's "still light out".

I prefer Daylight Savings time. I like to have time to go out after dinner for a walk or send the kids out to play for a bit. I like the light!
