I'm wanting to start building a little library for Jacob and just wondering what books your children (all ages) like and/or what did you like?

We like Dr. Seuss, Eric Carle & Sandra Boynton, too
There are so many good books to buy for children! I keep several recommended reading lists around. We also read a lot of poetry. We do this before nap time and so far we've read a complete Mother Goose set and we're half way through A Child's Treasury of Verse by Robert Louis Stevenson.

OMG, I can almost quote the Dr Seuss books -- my kids are amazed when I start doing that -- they say, "How often did you read those to us, Mom?"
"One foot two foot, red foot blue foot....." and "Big A, little a, what begins with A? Aunt Annie's Alligator, A....A.....A....."
AAAAGGGGHHH!
Anyway, the Dr Seuss books are a MUST for your library. Anything with a rhythm to the reading seem to be favorites of little folks.
Some other favorites of ours:
The Pokey Little Puppy
Winnie The Pooh
It Could Always be Worse
The Beatrix Potter books
If you buy videos/DVDs --- get one by a performer named Raffi. He is really good and my kids, especially my daugher, loved the video we had. It was great for quiet time. Also, the videos we had of the Beatrix Potter stories were good for quiet time.
There are tons more, but I can't think of the titles. Have fun building your library!~~Jean~~
No lie can live forever -- Martin Luther King Jr
What the people want is very simple - they want an America as good as its promise. -- Barbara Jordan
