A friend took her 5 yr. old to see this and he was very frightened during some parts of the movie - he even had nightmares that night. He watches Scooby on a regular basis, but she said this was much scarier than the cartoon. She also said her son was heartbroken because he's a big Scrappy Doo fan and (since this is a spoiler thread I'll go ahead and say it) he turns out to be the villian.
I was going to take my 3 yr. old to see this, but after talking with my friend I've decided not to.

I just brought my 2 year old to see it this week, and he was really into it- he only got antsy during the last 5 or so mins. I didn't realize that this movie wasn't animated, so I was disappointed with that. But they did pick people that actually look like the catroon characters, and I was amazed they got the voices down really well.
There were another couple of ladies that were in the theater that had about 5 kids between the both of them. The younger ones were OK with the movie- but one of the older ones did get freaked out, so they left early. The computer graphics are alot more life like than the cartoon, so I think that's why they got scared.
I was glad about Scrappy at the end. Growing up watching the cartoon, he always irritated the heck out of me, LOL!

We did splurge and go see this movie. We have not been to a movie at the theater in about a year. I thought it was very good, although some young children might be frightened by the monsters. My six year old was OK with it. Unfortunately, the projector broke during the last ten minutes of the film, but they had already unmasked the villian (Scrappy, I never did like that obnoxious little Scooby-Doo wanna-be!). Any way the theater refunded everyones money! So we got to see 90% of the movie for free! We could hear the ending, just no picture.

We took our boys to see it and they liked it! I was surprised too at how well the voices sounded like the cartoon characters....especially Shaggy! I guess it could be scary in some parts of the movie to little ones. My youngest, who is 7, didn't have a problem with it. He actually was laughing.
