Thumbs down Did ya feel it???

Ok fellow southern california ladies who felt it today? The 5.3 earthquake centered in Yucaipa? This was the first one my son has actually felt. He handled it well. My daughter was asleep. Hope no one had any damage or problems.

What does anyone think of the Tsunami warning we had a day or so ago? I was confused. I heard the emergency report on tv but didnt know about the earthquake up north. I am greatful it ended up being a "test" run and nothing happened. Did anyone see there was a 6.8 i believe around the aleation islands up near alaska i think the day before the 7.0 we had that triggered the tsunami warning? Hope we dont get another strong one here in southern california.

    stay safe everyone..

yep I felt it. It woke me up. Just a little one a 4.9 down graded. I live in Fontana so I am not that far from the epic center. I was here when the Landers... Big Bear quarkes hit...Those woke up the whole neighborhood. I lived in Japan too and they get hit with some big ones too. You just roll with the flow. I would rather live here in Cal then where they get hit with huricanes and tornados. Just my throughts.Fern
Yes I'm out of my mind. It's a dark and scary place in there.

I felt it too and this one scared me!!!!! I was here alone, both of my dks were in different places and dh was at work. Couldn't get a signal on my cell phone and our landline phone was out for almost an hour!!!! I heard it coming before it actually hit and my house shook like crazy! We are about 40 miles or so West of the epicenter......atleast that is what dh tells me!

I think we have had enough shaking and rolling lately!!!

Michelle, I would still come out here! It is a beautiful state! The mountains alone seal the deal for me. No matter where you live you have to adapt to that region's storms, tornado's earthquakes, hurricanes etc.
Blanche, I'm sorry you were alone, that can be scarey! I heard the phones were out. I lived in Sierra Madre just below chantry flats when there was an earthquake there. My apt was trashed.
Fernykins, That is so cool you lived in Japan. I've got friends there right now. (they are military) We just had a 3.4 as i was typing this centered in the palm springs area.. Oh well i thought i was swaying for a minute and i dont drink.. LOL

    welcome to california

I lived in the mojave when the landers quake hit. I remember that was a scary thing to go through. I remember feeling several small quakes during my time there. Stay safe!

Lynn, that is true. Where ever you live there is a chance of Mother Nature doing her damage. We have tornadoes and hurricanes in Texas, but I don't live close enough to the coast to get the brunt of the hurricane. I do see tornadoes fly by.

    Stay safe friends!
