You, the owners manual, good book
I've just been reading this book: [ame="http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/B0009JYAO4/qid=1121045300/sr=2-3/ref=pd_bbs_b_2_3/103-9517087-9949419"]404 - Document Not Found[/ame]
and it's very good. I saw the authors on Oprah and thought it would be fun to read.
I'm reading it now, and speaking as a nurse the medical info in there is right up to date, practical and it's written so clearly that anyone can understand it.
Not like some books written by drs that make sense only to medical professionals or those with a good understanding of medical jargon.
Fun to read. Lots of good little sidebars. A lot like the "dummies" series of books in the way that it makes the information fun and easy to access.
Well worth a look. It's popular so it should be at your local library and if it isn't your librarian should get a copy in soon.

When they were on Oprah it was really good. If she re runs that show, it's worth taping. They talked about something I've known for years (the research came in a while back, just now filtering into public consciousness)
and that is
Coffee is good for asthmatics, and it's just plain good for you. It has antioxidents in there, plus a theophylline like substance that helps tone down asthma attacks and reduce the number of them.
I love my coffee!
Naturally if you get the shakes or have problems from coffee that doesn't apply.
But that was another point they made, and that is
Everybody is different. Knowing YOUR body will help you make good choices for health.
For example I'm allergic to soy, and all legumes. So I can't eat lentils, green peas, peanut butter and things like tofu. It's amazing how much soy is put into things now as a healthy addition from cereal to drinks to power bars.
For a lot of people, soy is fine. For a lot of people a vegetarian diet is a much healthier way of life. But not for this one. For me drinking coffee and eating meat keeps me feeling good. Which sounds backwards
but because we are all different, there is no one prescription for health, and books like YOU help lay people figure out their best pathway to health, now and for the future.

I read the reviews at Amazon- some were good, some weren't, but I think it might be a fun book to read. Hopefully I will pick up a new fact or two that will help me lead a healthy, happy life. So, I requested it from my library system.
Thanks!

I've been wanting to read this one since I saw it on Oprah. I'm on the waiting list at the library.
