I used to watch it as a kid, but Jessica Simpson as Daisy is all I needed to say no thanks. rofl

we have the first season on dvd, love it. i liked watching it as a kid, one thing that dh and i share is our taste in tv programs as a kid...the a-team, knight rider, airwolf, etc mcguyver and quantum leap later on as preteens.

I was never allowed to watch it as a kid, so I have no interest in seeing the movie--and I agree with Sara, I wouldn't see it anyway since it has Jessica Simpson in it

Okay, well, I don't know how I feel about this. First, I LOVED the D.O.H when I was a kid. I actually caught myself watching a really bad episode (remember Vance and Coy?) the other night. And I'm not a huge fan of gratuitous sex or profanity in movies- I generally prefer old movies to new. BUT...
I wouldn't say D.O.H was the most family-friendly show to begin with. Umm, Mr, Jones, Daisy Dukes are called Daisy DUkes because of...you guessed it- Daisy Duke! And if I recall correctly, there was a lot of running from the law, moonshining, etc. So while I am SURE that I wouldn't take a kid to see the movie, the show wasn't 100% family-friendly to begin with. And times have changed.
That said, I would not pay to see the movie. When they make a movie out of an old show, it is rarely out of artistic ambition- it is to make $$$. And that isn't usually a good thing.
Also,
I actually kinda' like Jessica Simpson. Don't ask me why, 'cause I couldn't tell you. Can't stand Ashlee, though.
Hey, where did this come from? I like it!!

I just finished reading that on the comcast home page. I have to admit though, that I would love to see Willie Nelson's "uncle Jesse" or Burt Reynolds "Boss Hogg"......for most of the rest of the cast I think they could have done a little better.
As for Jessica Simpons as Daisy, the ones she is said to have beat out for the part were Britney Spears, Mandy Moore and Jessica Beale........at least it wasn't Brit that got the role

Please no flames, lol, but I never did like the show. Dh and 2 of my 4 dsons liked it though, so I watched my share of DOH. I was shocked the other day when oldest ds said ' saw an episode the other day and it was so stupid, I could barely watch!" He was their biggest fan as a child.
Who is Jessica Simpson? I've heard of her, but could someone please tell me the movies or tv shows that's made her a 'star'? TIA I watch very little network tv and see almost no movies, so my knowledge of pop culture is very limited, these days.

Dixie, Jessica Simpson is actually a singer first, but she is married to Nick Lachey (of some boy band fame- maybe Backstreet Boys?) and they had a reality show on MTV call Newlyweds. She sorta' portrays herself as a dumb blonde, but insiders say she had great grades in school and I happen to think she is pretty shrewd, business-wise. er sister Ashlee Simpson is the one who was caught lip-syncing on SNL earlier this year.

Thanks, Kimberly. I did happen to catch her sister's 'performance' on SNL.

I saw the video of "These Boots were Made for Walking" from the movie by Jessica Simpson on AOL the other day. It was enough to convince me that I don't want to set through an entire movie of her, she was pretty sleazy in the video, lap dancing moves and basicaly doing a Paris Hilton commercial knockoff (or is that vica versa
) of washing the General Lee car in a string bikini. Yuck Ick Phew

No flames from me, everyone likes something different, that's what makes us all wonderful and unique. I loved the show, still do. I am going to get the next season that is out on dvd now. But I don't think i could drag myself into the theater to watch the re-make.

I'm sure you're right. I have no clue. I get them all muddled in my head, mainly because I don't care enough about them to take the time to get them straight.Originally posted by Michelle

Ok, now I remember reading something about her and her dh, a while back. She was professing Christianity in the article.
