    Post Book recommendation

I have just read a book called 'The Light in the Window' by June Goulding.

It is a true story written by a woman who was a midwife at a home for unmarried mothers in Ireland back in the 50's.
It is heartbreaking, the girls and women were treated like dirt. They thought they were going to a rest home, the truth was quite the opposite.
I would recommend it to anyone.

Darn- it isn't available from my library system. (One of the few books that isn't.)

I love reading books about midwifery- I had planned on becoming a midwife until I started having panic attacks....

Maybe I'll be able to find it somewhere else.

Nope, not in my library either, but I will keep my eyes out for it. Sounds good! Reminds me of a Joni Mitchell song...

It's worth getting ladies, it's a very heartbreaking story but one that needed to be told, hope you can find it!

I know it's available in Canada as the person who recommended it to me lives there.

Sounds like some good reading. I'll have to check and see if I can get it.
