Default Anyone else heard the song "Skin"?

What a sad song, and yet the video has hope. It is by Rascal Flatts I think - but it starts "Sarabeth is scared to death..." about a teen girl with cancer. Makes me cry everytime, because I think about my girls. But what a sweet ending the video has when the boyfriend picks her up for the prom and he has shaved his head.

Yes, the radio stations play it all the time here. Its almost as sad as Trace Adkins song Arlinton about a soldier that is buried in Arlinton with his grandfather. Have you heard that one?

Yes - I bawl when I hear that song too, although I really love that one. It has a sense of pride to it even though it is about death.

Ok, I'll probably ruffle a few feathers when I say this, but I don't like that song! I had cancer in high school, so I can somewhat relate to the song. I'm not sure if it is the lyrics or the music of the song that make it seem like such a downer! Seriously, everyone has ups and downs, cancer or not. So I didn't get to do swim team in HS the after I got sick; I switched my focus to academic team and the English team (my team) got 1st in conference. I guess I get tired of cancer being portrayed as an automatic death sentence. Many, many people have full recoveries and lead close to normal lives during times of treatment. I never hear a song/see a movie where the character has cancer, but is still living their life the best they can. Maybe they will have a Skin 2 where the girl heads off to college or something;that would be a welcome change.

From what I hear it is on their latest CD, but not listed... It is also a song to help raise money for St. Jude, I think is what I heard.. The song is soo sad, yet I think it did give hope at the end when it said "for a moment she wasn't scared"... The video does let you get the sense there really is hope too. I cry every time I see the video and hear the song..

The girl I work with hadn't heard it yet so I sent her the link to the CMT Top Twenty countdown so she could hear it and see the video. I love it, add me to the list of those that get teary eyed when it plays.
