I'm so offended by this commercial...
Have you seen the commercial where the woman in lacy undies is straddling a man who's passed out on a hotel room bed.... to sell a cell phone plan?!?
She's screaming "Senator, senator, wake up!" and then goes on about how if he dies he'll miss out on this great new cell plan.
Not only is the whole commercial in bad taste, but, it was on during the Simpsons the other night--- a 6pm show that I'm sure many children were watching!
I'm not easily bothered by this sort of thing, but this commercial is way over the top, IMHO. If I see it again I'm writing down what company it's for so I can let them know exactly how I feel.

Wow, that does sound in horrible taste! And if that wasn't bad enough the timing was awful! I haven't seen it, but if i did i think i would have been offended too.

Yes I have seen it and I agree. Dh and I watched it and then just looked at each other. I think all this has gone too far anymore - but that's just MHO.

Amy, we have an Advertising Standards Board here. Is there such a thing over there?

There is also another one that goes with it where a rock star in a hotel room has obviously OD'd and is sprawled out on the floor. The maids come in and in an asian language tell him he has so much to live for still. (Or something like that, I wasn't paying that close attention!)

Haven't seen the commercial but the show "Everybody Loves Raymond" is on right before the only local news we get in my area and they are always discussing things that are inappropriate at 5:30 when I'm making supper and my son is running around. If I change the channel we always forget and miss most of the local news. The show is ok for later but the talk or bed scenes are enough to make me disgusted with whoever thinks the show is ok for that time of day.

Hmmm! I don't think I've seen this commercial
usually when I'm watching tv w/DH he flips during commercials.
It's sounds very weird....some stupid commercials I've seen & DH & I were discussing them one time during dinner...I'm not sure which one it was for but he said they get your attention & a way for you to remember it...right! whether it makes sense or not! They've made there point of advertising.

Ok, maybe I am the lone wolf here, but The Simpsons offends me more than an ad of this sort does. DH and DSS looov the Simpsons, but I honestly would be happier if I had never seen the program at all.

I totally understand. I dont allow my children (ages 12 and 10) to watch it.

I'm not crazy about the Simpsons, either, but I'm sure there are plenty of kids who do watch it.
I didn't let DD watch it, but, my DH has been on sick leave for two months now and the two of them watch it together. I gave up that particular battle.
I feel the same way about SpongeBob.

I have seen that commerical and I too sat there with my mouth open. I believe it was on a channel and time when little ones could see it too. And I think it is not only distasteful but a totally irresponisble commerical. WHY on earth would they even want to use that image to sell phones? YUCK
