Rash of fake 50 and 100 dollar bills - would you know the difference

There has been a rash of fake 50 and 100 dollar bills in our province has I'm sure there is elsewhere too.

Would you know the difference if you were handed one. I've seen some and they are pretty convincing. I don't think I'd know the difference.

I probably couldn't tell the difference either.

I seen on the news, local, where a couple of jr high kids had made their own money at home, and was spending it at their snack stand at school. They managed to spend quite a bit, before getting caught!!

Pepper I'm not surprised. When they showed people in the malls different ones that were fake and real, most people could not tell them apart.

I just think it is so sad, I mean, how desperate do you have to be to do something like that. Or should I say, How sick?

I agree. It's big time news here though, in fact many stores in both Brandon and Winnipeg will not accept 50 or 100 dollar bills. It's frustrating to those who are honest and get stuck with fake bills, kwim.

If someone does get given a fake bill, does it get replaced or is it just your loss?

They tell you to take the fake bill to the bank. However I'm not sure who loses out on it. I Can't think the bank would continue to replace fake bills. I'll check into that if i remember tomorrow and let you know.
