What type of books do you read, that others .....
Would never have thought you would?
A few years back I was visiting a lady from church. I noticed she had a number of "hot romance" books laying around. She saw me looking at them and said, they are my favorite books. KNowing her (at least I thought I did), I would never have thought she would read those books. I don't have anything against those books or what one chooses to read. She just didn't seem like the person who would, kwim.
I met someone else who reads Star-trek.
I find it interesting what others read. When I first started reading John Grisham, my dh said to me, I never thought you would read his books. Guess I totally took him by surprise.

heheheheheheh
well now, CJ has visited my planet, and she KNOWS the truth.
She has seen my Star Trek collection, and the physics stuff and she knows my little secrets.
Even the fact that I enjoy watching that loopy off the wall soap Passions along with my Xfiles, star trek all flavours, Star Gate and so forth.
It gives people a shock who only know one side of me or another because I also lead a bible study or two, and I'm very fond of the Bible, I'm a homeschooling mum, and that tends to throw people at first.
I also like some poets like Cowper, whose quote I have at the bottom of my signature.

I like crime fiction. Mostly Patricia Cornwell or Kathy Reichs books.
I have so little time for fiction/enjoyment reading right now, as much as I'd like to explore new authors, I know the books will be there in the future when I have more free time. As it is when I get into a good book, it's 4am before I finally get to sleep, and that doesn't make for a functioning mommy! LOL!

I used to read them a lot, but I've stopped reading them now as I think they were just bringing me down and not bringing anything positive into my life. They were too depressing. So I just avoid them now. (Got rid of them all, as a matter of fact.)
I was really interested in the psychology behind the crimes, but as I said, it was utterly depressing to think about some of those people.

I doubt anyone would be shocked except for maybe the Star Wars books or Harry Potter books. Though I'm pretty sure that wouldn't shock anyone that knows me at all.

I enjoy romance books. I don't think that anyone who knows me would have dreamed that I would enjoy romance type book. I wouldn't want to read them all the time but for a change of pace I occassionally enjoy a good western style romance novel.

I have read all kinds of things. Science fiction would be what people least expect. Right now I am reading Fannie Flagg's Standing in the Rainbow. She is so entertaining and an easy read.

I read almost anything! Some of my favorites are:
Nora Roberts, John Patterson, Joann Lindsley, John Grisham,
occasionally a western romance or any romance for that matter. I like books about the old south, not interested in sci-fiction at all. I am sure there is a ton more Authors I like...just can't think right now!
