Did anyone watch American Idol last night?

I did. I saw some talent, but can't wait for the elimination shows. I love it when it gets down to the last handful of contestants!

We watched it. My amazement is never ending at the number of people who think they can sing and to H^(& with anyone who thinks otherwise.

Patrick thought it was hysterical the way some of them were going on.

Well phooey, I forgot it was on last night. We did not even turn on the television until time for the local news. I will have to watch next week.

LA I think. Last night was Chicago auditions.

I LAUGHED my butt off through the whole thing. OMG, what will people think of to get on that show!

I watched it and got a kick out of it. The only thing that I really did not like was the remark Simon made about the woman who was a bit over weight. Something on the order of, " did we get a bigger stage?" I think that was completely uncalled for and in very poor taste. I know he has a reputation to maintain and all but really.....But maybe I am sensative since both I and DD are over weight. anyway...... I loved the show and was amazed at a couple of the folks. I cant wait until we get to the end. Nice to see some new folks with talent and drive

simon does those things in order to stir controversy. Best thing we can all do is ignore him and he'll go away. If we make a fuss over it- he will certainly continue.

The paris hilton wanna-be was hysterical!

The foul mouthed girl is way over board!! I think that's what shocked the judges, which sent her packing. But she just kept on her rant. DH says--- she'd make a great stripper or porn star. but that's it.

We commented that we were surprised my two nieces weren't trying out. They live in Denver- and thing they can sing!

Funny how parents have a deaf ear.

The last guy there was a fruitcake but then again so were a lot of them. Does anyone know if they screen these people at all?

I watched again tonight it does bring a smile to my face. Some of these people are just looney.

They do have pre-screeners...they let the bad people through on purpose.

Kinda sad but makes for good entertainment. I just don't get how some of these people really believe they can sing!! I know I can't (I still do in private) but I would never actually enter a contest. Can't wait for tonight.

Ryan Seacrest was on some talk show, can't remember at the moment which one, and said that they do screen the applicants. They get a lot of people who are there to just try to get on TV and they weed those out. He said unfortunately parents tell their kids how good they are (at singing) when they aren't and this is the reason they have so many "bad" tryouts. Just thought I'd share that!
