Have You Ever Walked out in the Middle of a Movie?
I can't say that I have. Rob and I almost walked out in the middle of Clockers, but we wound up napping instead.

Oh, actually, I guess I lied. My grandfather dragged me out of The Four Seasons (movie with Alan Alda and MaryTyler Moore) when I was a kid. My parents and I were visiting my grandparents in Ohio and the 5 of us went to the movies. There was a skinny-dipping scene and my grandfather didn't think I should see it, so he took me out. So, technically, I've walked out.My Blog: http://amysreallife.wordpress.com

I don't think we have. However, it seems like I remember whispering through a few threatening to do so.

no but I vaguely recall a few where I probably should have. They were a total waste. I kept thinking oh finally the good part.
Nope, oh finally NOW maybe this will make sense
NOPE!
I took one movie back that I rented that had so much bad language (and I am used to some pretty bad stuff with some in my family) that I was simply not able to continue. The plot line was good and funny and had some good things to say. It got lost in the sheer volume of the f word and other profanity.
Even the worst trucker/sailer/loggers I've known don't talk like that. Maybe in Hollywood it's normal but not in real life. Except in jr high where the shock value is everything, and the more times you insert the f word the better.
A lot of stuff in the eighties and early nineties was like that. It seemed Hollywood was trying to shock more and more and it got ridiculous.
I actually think Michael Medved brought some sanity back and you can listen to a movie nowadays without feeling like you are in the halls of the local jr high where they don't have ANY other creative expression than the all purpose f word.
At the height of that period, and really it was the late eighties, it was almost impossible to listen without feeling like you needed to wash the ears out with soap.
At least when I was in high school it was considered daring and good form to swear creatively and broadly. My Quaker grandad had a breadth of expression in several languages. It was a treat to hear him swear. A real education.
but nowadays it's pure boredom. No creativity at all from the young.
Fortunately movie makers are being creative again WITHOUT a lot of cussing and swearing.

We seldom go to movies anymore. Years ago we use to go quite often. I can't even remember the movie - some dumb western. It was just that, totally dumb. We both walked out after about 25 minutes and laughed all the way to the vehicle about spending our money on it.

Yes, Ishtar. It's the worst so called comedy movie ever & starred Dustin Hoffman and Warren Beatty. Still bothers me that I paid for this thing... I kept waiting for it to get better, it never did. Two thumbs down, way down
