I get Flare and a subscription to Chatelaine came with it for free. I also get Glow, but that's free as well with my Shopper's Optimum points. It's the only thing I use them for.

I've really cut down my our magazine subscriptions and ight now we get:
- Parents (love it!)
- National Geographic (can't live without it)
- Body and Soul (got a 3 year sub for Organic Living which they stopped making and gave me this instead - it's ok but not necessary)
- a Finnish decorating (interior design) magazine (love it)
I also buy Real Simple sometimes or some interior design magazines.

I only get one magazine... Flight Training by Aircraft Owners and Pilot's Association (AOPA). Comes with the AOPA membership for pilots...which makes us elidgeable for car insurance thru their program...which is HALF the price we were paying with our last one!! And it supports a great organization at the same time!

I am a magazine junkie! Not buying mags has been my hardest frugal challenge..sad, I know. But I do have a subscription to Real Simple (luv it!) and Taste of Home (which I got free when I bought my sis the cookbook for christmas). Oh yeah, I also get Fitness (ordered a year ago through school fundraiser for cheap).....am sure the mail lady laughs out loud every time she puts it in my mail box, hehehe, as I have a few *cough* pounds to shed.

I'm not a big magazine reader, but I did just get a one year subscription to Shape magazine for $3.99 (for the year)!
I've become pretty cynical about women's magazines. The fact that they are so advertiser supported leads to a lot of internal politics about what actually shows up in them. For example, if they test out different facial products to tell you which is best and find that Olay is the best, but their magazine has advertiser support from Neutrogena, well ...
Stuff like that.Last edited by acidcookie; 04-25-2007 at 11:24 AM.

I love magazines! I currently get:
~ Country Home (purchased a 4 year subscription for $10)
~ Better Homes & Gardens
~ Family Circle (given to my by Philip's grandma)
~ Reader's Digest (given to us by grandparents)
~ Mary Engelbreit's Home Companion (my favorite & a splurge for me)
I check out at the library:
~ Today's Christian Woman
~ Real Simple
~ National Review
~ People
~ PaperCrafts
~ Parenting
~ Majesty
~ Royalty
The only type of magazine I don't really read are the Glamour/Cosmo, type. They repeat the same things over and over and are (imho) obsessed with sex.
