Took DD to her first movie today....
We went to see Curious George. Since she is only 2, she was free, so it was only $6.50, which isn't bad at all.
She was so good- she did ask once to go see Daddy, who was working in the mall we were at but not with us, but other than that she sat and watched the whole thing.
It was cute, but I really could have done without the 20-25 minutes worth of previews and commercials at the beginning. Yes, commercials. I haven't been to the movies since seeing the first Harry Potter movie when it came out, and prior to that, it was Titanic that I last saw. I had no idea that you actually had to sit through commercials at the movie theatre. I definitely would have gone in later had I known that- she would have made it through the whole thing with no problem.
We watched 2 Coke commercials, a Honda commercial, a Goldfish commecial, 2 McDonald's commercials, and at least 5 previews for animated movies and teeny-bopper movies.
Ugh!

I don't understand why they put commercials before a movie.
At least your DD got in free!
So how was the movie? I have thought about seeing it myself. LOL!~*Michelle*~

Sounds like fun!
I do enjoy going to matinees sometimes but, you're right, the commercials are ridiculous. In IN they're working on making the Theaters post two show times: the first when the commercials come on and the second when the movie actually starts.

It was cute- not a whole, whole lot of substance, but cute nonetheless. The monkey saves the day in the end. Not sure I'd have wanted to pay to see it for myself, but the monkey was really cute.

Thanks. My kids really want to see this movie, but I'm having trouble with the thought of spending $20+ to see it

I'm glad you two enjoyed your outing.
DH and I took DD to see a free sneak preview of the Curse of the Warerabbit (a claymation movie) a while back-- and you're right, without the previews, she might have made it through the whole movie, too!
