I just turned it on when the financial consultant and the client were fighting in the beauty salon. Does this woman get her hair done every day?????

Those people have got courage, to get up there and tell all, and work to change things.

The fusses they have and the tantrums and the hissy fits and the sneaky moments remind me of me on a diet.

I guess we all have our weak spots.

I know I get pretty cranky when I have to change something I'm used to because I can't afford the calories anymore.

I saw myself not in the debt area, but in the weight area as I watched.

did anyone catch the amount of debt they have? I missed the that.
It was quite brave of them to give up their tv's, cable, piano, etc. once you get used to living a certain way, it's hard to change. Good for them.

This show annoyed me. More "sensationalism" than anything else IMO.

I can't believe these people are getting free help, and they're CHEATING!!!

I only got to see the first 2 couples, however I really like it so far. Yes, they are cheating which is annoying, however I found myself often cheating when we first started paying off our cc debt years ago. I think they are showing how many, many people in debt cheat or tell themselves they aren't in debt or don't spend that amount of money. Personally I think that part is pretty realistic.

When the one lady heard what they were spending on groceries, she couldn't believe it. I know many who are like that.

I can't imagine how hard it is to change has quickly has they have had to change. One week and they are expected to make HUGE changes. I know for me, I wouldn't be able to make all those changes so quickly.

I saw it...I thought it was good. I enjoy those kind of shows, even though I know that much of it is "made for tv." I thought that the people's reactions to having to make quick changes was very realistic.

ROFL it's a GOOD thing nobody sees me cheating on my diet!!!!!

LOL I'd be DONE for I tell you, DONE for.

Nobody would ever believe my moaning and complaining about the difficulty it is to lose weight.

My friend Gwen has been over and says I have a slight portion control problem.

I suspect that in a money kind of way, these people have the same kind of

ARGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH you mean I have to GIVE UP my home made blueberry PANCAKES???????????? I ALREADY gave up my home made blueberry MUFFINS!!!!!!!!!!

    and it gets WORSE????

I just have a great deal of sympathy for them when I translate the anguish into my own terms of struggle.

I didn't see a hair dresser for years and years, I'm quite sure those ladies wouldn't consider using cloth sanitary pads, and menu planning and grocery flyer shopping and cooking at home instead of eating out would be a big big stretch.

Easy for me, tough for them. I'm lucky that I enjoy doing all that. they find it foreign.

Did you catch something that Oprah bless her heart said, it was about people being asleep at the wheel, kind of unconscious as they drift thru life. Spending in order to feel like they have a real life or spending somehow validates that they are alive or something.

She went on a bit about it, and I think she is onto something.

Not that people were actually unaware, it's just like the kind of spending and debt was going under the radar as fast as they could ignore it.
