Post New Film Flight 93 - Will You See It?

This movie is based on the events aboard Flight 93 September 11, 2001 where passensers took the plane back from the hi-jackers before it crashed.

I am just wondering how many will see it. I have read that Universal even went so far as to contact family members of those killed in the crash for some kind of approval--not sure if this is true. I do think those on the plane are definately heros, but I am almost sure that I will not see this movie. I was with people in my office when the towers were hit. While we were looking out of the window, a short time later, we heard about Flight 93 on the radio. I just don't want to relive that day again.

I suspect that it will get large numbers because most people are naturally curious.

I see that the proper is "United 93". I just read this and see that there are already [policital] problems. It was made with the full cooperation of the families of those who died and around 90 of them are due to attend the premiere.

One person who may not be there is Iraqi actor Lewis Alsamari who plays one of the hijackers. He said last week he was denied entry to the United States, although the U.S. embassy in London said he had not given sufficient notice about his planned trip. "That's unfortunate," De Niro said.

The festival's executive director Peter Scarlet said organizers were in contact with the State Department in an attempt to expedite Alsamari's visa.

It's not a movie I will see either. My husband saw the Pentagon get hit, he was on I95 (I think, not sure of highway #...I don't go up that way often) on his way there. I thank God everyday that he hadn't yet made it there. It was insane here that day, not something I want to re-live.

I admit I'm pretty curious.... and I've read several places about the families giving consent before the movie was made, so that makes me feel better. I'm undecided as to whether I'll watch it or not... but if I do, it won't be until it comes out on video.

I do want to see it but since it only takes movies a couple of months to hit video now I will wait for the video release.

No I won't see it, but I wouldn't mind people being reminded about what happened on that day. Never forget. If I we're to gleen one good thing from all the horror it would be that united feeling that we Americans and many other countries people had for just a short time. We were one against a great evil.

I will be seeing it. I still think about that day every day. I used to work in One World Trade, on the 105th floor where the first plane hit. I know people who lost their lives that day as well as many people who made it out alive. I myself was lucky, I moved away from the city to PA. I remember that day like it was yesterday, I stood on line with my then 4 year old son, waiting to give blood for hours and I couldnt stop crying. I had many family members who were dislocated for many hours and we frantically kept trying to call their cell phones.

This is a day I personally will never forget.

I'll wait for it come out on video. Then I'll get it from the library - For Free!

Other than that... The Producers of the movie introduced each actor to the families of the person whom they portrayed in the movie. I just saw a short clip of this on ABC the other morning. I think I might like to see this perhaps more than the movie itself.

    These people had such courage.

I probably won't see it but it's not because I disapprove of its being made. I just don't spend much time watching movies any more at all. I imagine that Philip will see it when the library gets it.

I think it's far too soon to have a movie about any of the events of 9/11, so no, I won't be seeing it either.

I agree with you, Michelle. I will not see it. I see the previews and it chokes me up. Maybe my DH and I will rent it years from now. But now it is still too fresh on my mind.
