Smile What will you be reading in August?

Right now I'm reading a Fern Micheals book, The Real Deal. It's pretty good.

I'm on the lookout for James Patterson's 5th Horseman (or is it Horsemen?). Other than that, whatever I find at the library that strikes my fancy. Oh and that Orson Scott Card book I haven't gotten to yet.

Right now I'm reading Total Money Makeover,I got a gift card with my airmiles so I bought it and the Complete Tightwad Gazette(I already finished the TG).
I'm also reading Heal Your Body.
This week I get to start reading some kids novels. One of the twins loves reading and the other one will fake his way through a book(oldest ds did this too), so I read it too and ask them questions. Both David and Jake read better if they know they are going to have to prove it. So far I've read all the goosebumps, harry potter, and series of unfortunate events. Now we are working on clue, jr.

Just started The Twelfth Card by Jeffery Deaver and will be moving on to 1776 by David McCullough. Also reading some cookbooks on vegetables and lower fat cooking.

I just finished Little Earthquakes by Jennifer Weiner. I really enjoyed it. I also liked Good In Bed by her. I haven't read In Her Shoes yet but I think I'll enjoy it too.

I just finished that a few days ago and I am ready to start something new. I'll have to see what's lying around and let you all know what I start on.

    I have a stack...

I am re-reading the Casteel saga by VC Andrews (five books), the new Mary Balogh when it comes out, Luxury Fever, The Millionaire Mind, CIGT Quicken, Quicken for Dummies, the "Lies" trilogy by Liz Carlyle, and anything good that comes in from the library.

I just finished Song of the Road by Dorthy Garlock.
The funny thing is I know her son and had never read one of her books. I have to say it was a V.G. read! It was strange reading the dedication page and knowing one of the people it was dedicated to.

I'm reading Hidden in France by Simon Jeruchim. I was at the Holocaust museum and he was having a book signing so mine is a signed copy. I also bought the sequel called Frenchy and will read it next (also signed).

I am reading The Last Cato by Natilde Asensi. From the dust jacket "A masterful blend of Christian scholarship and pure thrilling adventure. The last Cato is a novel about the race to find the secret location of the Vera Cruz, the True Cross on which Christ was crucified, an the ancient brotherhood sworn to protect it from infidel hands." It is suppose to be a great book and an international best seller but I am having trouble really getting into it. I am going to give it another chapter or two and if I am not enjoying it by then I am going to give up.

I have 2 books that are on in the mail now to me, Mockingbird by Sean Stewart, it is about a 3 sisters and has some magic in the plot, it sounds like a great read. The other is A House Divided by Debra LeBlanc, it is a scary haunted house novel .

Right now I'm finishing up Tom Jones by Henry Fielding. It's a bit big to carry around with me, so I have The Hound of the Baskervilles by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle on my PDA to read when I have to wait somewhere. After I finish these I have The Age of Innocence by Edith Wharton waiting in the wings.

Does anyone else take a book along with them when they may have to wait?

I just picked up The Revelation by Beverly Lewis. It's the last book in the Abram's daughters series. When I finish that, I will most likely start another of her series. I'm also reading a few food allergy books.

I'm finishing up "Angels and Demons" by Dan Brown. I've got a few books waiting to be read that I got at a used book store. I've also got some financial books on first time home buying, but I'm not to those yet.

I have a large stack of cookbooks, gardening books, and books to use while homeschooling this year that I'm reading and/or previewing. Will also read whatever good mysteries come to the library this month.

Lynn, I also bring a book or two when I expect to wait somewhere.
