    Thanks for the article. That's interesting. I used to shop at a thrift store that said Disabled American Verterans on it. I'm wondering if it was a for profit store. The main thrift store I go to now is called Waterfront Mission, and it helps provide a homeless shelter.

    I shop at several thrift stores that are for profit. I don't normally shop for the donation to charity so I don't mind that they are making a profit if I am getting a bargain . I donate to several children's charities of my choice and do that through monetary donations throughout the year.
