Great article. I love my local Goodwill. I shop there all the time. I have found so many awesome bargains there..... even a few designer things with the tags still on.

Our Goodwill doesn't allow you to try on clothes. Evidently someone tried to steal from them. You have to buy the clothes, then you have 7 days for a refund or exchange. I don't have the time or patience for that!
“When you get to the end of all the light you know
and it's time to step into the darkness of the unknown,
faith is knowing that one of two things will happen:
you will be given something solid to stand on,
or you will be taught how to fly.” - Edward Teller
“Our Earth is degenerate in these later days;
there are signs that the world is speedily
coming to an end;
bribery and corruption are common; children no
longer obey their parents;
every man wants to write a book and the
end of the world is evidently approaching.”
— From a translation of an inscription on
an Assyrian clay tablet, circa 2800 B.C.E.
God, grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change,
courage to change the things I can,
and the wisdom to know the difference.

Our Goodwill store used to allow exchanges, but no more. I try on everything before I buy it. I prefer the DAV stores, the Goodwill here is a little high on everything. LOL. I.M.CHEAP! I went out Thursday to two different DAV stores, and came home with two "new" pair of jeans (one was Liz Claiborne), one pair of khaki pants, and two great looking denim shirts. I spent $10.99. I love shopping at the thrift stores!

~ I'm really fond of my thrift store. All the employees are volunteers which keeps the prices low. They often run 1/2 off sales and bag sales. Proceeds benefit a hospice program. I do like Goodwill for kids clothes. Great stuff sells for $1-2. Coats and snowsuits for $2-6. Last time I was there I got 3 pretty, NWT toddler dance leotards for $5. Beats full price. I also run into the Salvation Army every 6 months or so. I bought my living room furniture there!
