Anyone read books by Diana Gabaldon?
Just started the first in her series Outlander. One of those rare books I've picked up & hate to put down. What an interesting read, it has it all~romance, drama, intrigue, history, time travel. What fun.

I've read the Outlander Series and they are soooo addictive. I love historical fiction, and this was probably the best series that I've read. I read them so fast that after each one, I had to wait until the next book came out. The wait was torture. Enjoy!!!!

What book do you suggest a first timer of this author start with? My library has 3 pages of titles for her. I've been looking for some good books to read since we will be switching to basic cable soon and we won't be watching as much TV. I want a good stockpile for that TV withdrawl phase.

I'd pick Outlander since it's the start in the series. Just an FYI, they sure do alot of um... "ravishing" of one another, lol.

There are 6 in that series so you'll keep busy for a while. In order~
Outlander
Dragonfly In Amber
Voyager
Drums of Autumn
The Firey Cross

Pam, the first ones you mentioned are books based on other characters from the Outlander series. If you check amazon you can get more info on them.

The last is a guide, discribed as; "Part crib notes and part trivia guide, this essential handbook includes synopses of the first four novels, a character guide, notes on plot development and research, answers to frequently asked questions, and teasers for the upcoming novels--there're even horoscope charts of the central characters, a list of fan Web sites, and choice recipes for the truly devoted."
