My brother was over in NY for a week doing some police relief. He said when he first got there he just stood with him mouth gaping open. He said you see nothing on tv till you see 'the big picture'. He came home today and said he doesn't want to talk about it anymore. I know it is bothering him. In time i know he will share some stories with us but until then we have to let him be.

I know it took Mel some time before she could post her thoughts on the situation at hand.

I hope when your brother does talk about it some, that you will be able to share some of the joys and the sorrows and the feelings that he expresses. By all means have your brother login and write it himself. I'm sure that NONE of the Moderators here would object to him writing the piece on his own. I realize this is a "women's community" but we do have some men who are frugal shoppers and all and find good deals on our boards.

This is one time when I think that we would WELCOME HIM w/OPEN ARMS here. Bless him and be with him and his friends who helped out when they were needed so much.

I remember back a few years ago, when other firefighters had to come to FL to help us fight to get some fires under control that summer because we hadn't had enough rainfall to keep the ground moist. Many firefighters came from the different states. We were all saddened when the one truck heading back to their home state were in a deadly accident en route home. Our hearts went out to their families then and it goes out to ALL the Families and Victims at this time.

He said that in time it will be easier for him but right now he doesnt want to talk about what he seen out there. I told him to post his thoughts here but he isn't ready yet.
