I don't know anything about some of those products (plasma tvs...) but I probably agree with most of the article (mattresses, helmets). I'd take a used matress from family if it hadn't been used (like from a guest room or something) but I don't think I'd take one from a stranger.

some i agree with, some i don't. I'd buy a cd player/dvd player from a goodwill or yard sale. no problem. same with tv's, camcorders, and laptops.
i totally agree about the matresses. i get the willies easy. when i go to hotels i pack my own lysol, lol.~~ Missy ~~

but...then again...anythng done on that matress was probably also done on the couch or recliner there in that same yardsale!

Some I agree with, some I don't.
She's talking about buying a used vacuum or DVD player as though you're paying big bucks, not yardsale prices. I wouldn't pay a lot for those items used, but I also wouldn't expect them to last forever.

I agree with everything mostly. I did buy some used shoes last year but theyl were like new Birkenstock sandles. I could tell by the soles that they hadn't been worn. No wear at all and I only paid a dollar for them.
