The Secret (on Oprah)
Who saw the show? I missed about the first 15 min. of the show but I am sure ready to get the book or DVD. I love the concept & it probably would work. I tried to get on the internet after the show but couldn't get the website to completely load (old computer). I wonder how many hits that website had after her show.

What was that show about? I am usually watching Judge Judy when Oprah comes on. If I know Oprah is good I'll tune in.

The secret they talked about, talked basically about being positive and asking the universe for what you want, and expecting to get it. Instead of being focused on "my marriage is horrible, my husband never does a, b, and c" or "I'll never find that special someone" think things like "My husband is great because he cooks for me and does the dishes" or "I am beautiful and strong and that special someone is there for me somewhere, and I will find him!"
Basically it was all about being positive and confident and focusing on the good. Having an "attitude of gratitude." I don't agree 100% with what they said, but it reminded me a lot that God also asks us to have an "attitude of gratitude" and that you have complete control over choosing how you view the world and life...and there's no doubt that a positive view will improve your life. And it also made me grateful that we have a God that we can believe in who's in control of things..not just this large void of the universe.
But those are just my opinions. I defintely agree that a positive attitude will work positive things iin your life... I just don't full agree with the rest is all. I still found the show interesting though.

I saw that show too and I love the idea behind it. I need to adjust the way I think things, who knew the universe was listening! Instead of thinking about what's wrong focus on what's right, or at least what I am grateful for with each situation. I want to try and read the book and see the dvd too. Has anyone else read The Secret or watched the dvd?

I ordered the DVD yesterday. I"m looking forward to receiving it. It is incredible the things we say to ourselves. Yesterday I caught myself thinking, "I'm so stupid" and then I thought quickly, no I"m not, why do I say that to myself? So I'm at least starting to think. I wouldn't put up with someone else saying that to me, so why do I say it to myself, which I feel is even more destructive.
