    Default Watch Oprah Today!!

I saw the ad for Oprah today--it looks like a great show that us FVer's will enjoy.

It is about living on less and how one family lost 2/3rds of their income and were able to manage just fine.

Check out the details on www.oprah.com

You would think with the economic downturn from 9/11 that affected so many of us, if only indirectly, that more facets of the media would have highlighted the positive things that people did to change their lives and cope with the troubles.

I caught the show. She spoke with a financial expert and actually looked into their home. How she lived, does she take her own advice? Most definitely. She then spoke with a CEO of a dot com business that went bust. How millions of dollars were gone in an instant and what that did to him. The last topic was a family that brought home 90 k had to survive on the husbands income of 32k when the wife lost her job. They had an infant that had developmental problems and someone needed to be home with her. She said she looks at every purchase and says, "is this absolutely necessary" Good advice. I really enjoyed the show.

There you go chelle, some highlights for you

I taped it! If anyone wants to see it, just send me your address and I can mail the tape to you.

The show wasn't that spectacular, but I really liked what the financial advisor Ilyce Glick had to say. I also like the fact that she "walks her talk" She drives an older used car, packs lunches, eats meals at home, has older furniture, etc.
