Default Man Charged For Spending Misplaced Money

    http://www.boston.com/news/odd/artic...p1=MEWell_Pos5

Something similar happened to me years ago. The sum was much smaller, about $2000. I contacted the bank and let them know there was $2000 extra in my account and it should not be there. The bank disputed me. I kept insisting the money was not mine. This went on for months. So finally I spent it. Of course then they came to me and said they made an error. They wanted the money back and told me they would let me pay if back over a period of months.

It happened to me too, but for a much lesser amount. Quite a few years ago I was at the bank drive thru and wanted to withdraw $25. I received the packet and it felt kinda thick for $25. When I got home I opened it and went thru it and they gave me $250! I didn't dare spend it. I received a call from the bank the next day about their error and I promptly returned it.

If in 6 months... the person who was SUPPOSE to have gotten the $106,000 didn't speak up... um... I'd notice that much missing from MY acct....
I can't be out of money... I still have checks left!

I wouldn't have spent the money if I know it isn't mine, mistakes can happen, but my conscience is my guide. Would be neat to dream about fun things to do with it.

We've charged people for the same thing. It's illegal, same as stealing.

I wouldnt spend it either, I would like the thought of a bigger bank account but my brain would NOT let me spend it.
