Commercials
Was watching some tv today & saw one of dumbest commercials. Anyone see the new Tampax commercial? The big improvement is cardboard, They have always had the cardboard applicator so why is cardboard the prominent new improvement?! Buy new CARDBOARD tampax. Ya really makes me want them. Super absorbent cardboard...lol.
Another annoying one is the Head On commercials. Apply this roll-on stuff directly to your forhead to get rid of headaches...

PS. Hmm...What ever happened to baby Bob from the Quizno's commercials? I miss those, lol.~*Darlene*~

I dislike many commercials. So many make women look stupid and lazy.
As for "New and Improved" as meathead once said "What were we using before Old and Yucky?"
Just one more way of trying to get folks to spend money on items we don't need.

My favorite commercial is where the child says,"Mom, watch the dogs new trick" and you see the dog dragging its rear across the carpet and hear the mother screaming.I think it's for Stanley Steamer carpet cleaning.I know this one to be true to life- seen it happen.

Starburst has some strange new commercials. At first, you're like, what the heck was that?! Then they kind of grow on you.

Gee! Another advantage of no TV - no commercials! Sometimes I feel totally out of touch with our society, but at the same time I feel kind of good about it.

I just switched from Tampax because they have those stupid plastic everything now and I know that just fills up the dump (doesn't bio-degrade...is that the right term?). They lost me quick! They're who I've always bought from. I hate when products change!! Don't change a good thing!! "If it ain't broke, don't fix it!!". Now they're doing something with cardboard? Oh good grief! Leave well enough alone!
As for commercials...I don't like the nasty commercials...for condoms, impotence drugs, etc. I just don't want to see that stuff...Kace - married to Dh 12 years

Sadly I have not been graced with those commercials. The last DUMB tampon commercial I saw was the one brand - not sure if it was Playtex or Tampex and this guy was on a date with a girl in a boat and it sprung a leak. She whipped out a tampon and plugged the hole - get it? Superasorbent enough to stop a leak?
MSG TO THE ADVERTISING COMPANIES - think about it, do women really want something THAT asorbent in their bits? I mean, are you trying to encourage TSS (toxic shock syndrome)? Thats why the tampon companies put a warning on their product - do not use a stronger strength then needed or else you'll risk subjecting yourself to TSS. Plus if tampons are that super asorbent, what other household problems can it be used for and why are men still afraid to buy them for their female counter parts?
And secondly - how PROUD is she to announce to her new 'date' that shes on her period?

I hardly watch television anymore, but this thread reminded me of commercials that are unintentionally funny, where you have to suspend disbelief. Like the old one where two friends are eating at a restaurant, and one friend just happens to have a bottle of her favorite salad dressing in her purse. Like we all carry around our favorite products to show people.
