There is a book called the Diary of Callie Wade or the journal of callie wade.

There is another book about the diaries of Mattie Spenscer. They are all really good.

Wanted to add---The Journal of Callie Wade is by Dawn Miller and there is a sequel called Jack's Letters to Callie.

The Diary of Mattie Spenser is by Sandra Dallas.

YOu might also like any of the Janette Oke series.

YES! These two from Gwen Bristow are my FAVORITES. I read them over and over. Calico Palace and Jubilee Trail. Both are from the woman's perspective and SO neat. My Mom gave me Calico Palace when I was a teenager and I didn't read it until I was in my 30's! (Just thought the old book looked neat) Now it's my favorite book! I searched online for more books from her and found a bunch of the same sort of stories, but these are my 2 fave's. They're out of print now, so your best bet would be your library.

I read a book long ago from the library. It is called "Woman of the People" It's about a white woman that gets captured by the indians and lives with them.

    It was pretty good.
