2 Book Recommendations
Good Morning!
For those of you looking for excellent books to read in the New Year, I have 2 recommendations.
The Thirteenth Tale by Diane Setterfield
Shadow of the Wind by Carlos Ruiz Zafon
Both of these are excellent stories, but the best thing about them is that both of these authors use language beautifully. For example, I love John Sandford and James Patterson because they are good authors of good stories. But, I can read them front to back fairly quickly. These other two books are written by people who manipulate language and when reading, I would sometimes go back, pages later, to reread a paragraph because I couldn't get the descriptions out of my mind. I don't know if I'm explaining it all very well. They also have excellent stories.
So, those are some recommendations if you feel like really experiencing a book in the New Year.

Thank you so much. I am a compulsive reader and there is nothing more yummy than a well written book.
I'm going to put them on hold online with my library.
Have you read "Paradise" by Toni Morrison. She's sometimes hard to read, but this book pulls you in, challenges you from the first sentence and keeps you captivated.

I checked out The Thirteenth Tale from the library a while back but did not have time to really read it. I am hoping to find it used sometime this summer and I will give it another shot then. Thanks for the recommendations Amy.
