    Default January reading

I'm an obsessive (though some say avid LOL) reader, so for gifts this year those who know me well gave me some great new books!

    This month I'm reading:
For fun: His Dark Materials (includes the Golden Compass)
For work: 123 Magic. (gotten a lot of questions about it lately, so I need to be well versed, it's a pretty good parenting book for those that struggle with yelling and not following through, ie Me lately!!)
For Improving my situation: Surviving Debt by the national consumer law center

What's on your reading list this month??

I really really hoped to have the New Testament finished while I was out of town. I'm close though; hopefully I'll get that done before class starts in 2 weeks.

Also, to prepare to teach my Ad/PR students:
    Public Relations: Strategies and Tactics
Advertising & the Business of Brands
and a re-read of the textbook I'm using for that class:
    Communication Research

And for fun? Flowers for Algernon which my mom got me for Christmas.

I am still working on the final novel in Jan Karon's Mitford Series... Light From Heaven. Then, a lady in our little town has written a book. It is supposed to be fictonal, BUT, those who have read it say it is about her life and if you know her then you know who she is writing about. I've heard that she has made some folks pretty angry. My Mother purchased the book at her book signing at the library. She has read it and passed it on to me to read. It is entitled... Thank God I'm Dead Already. It is written by Diana deVault. She used to be a teacher at the local high school. My oldest brother was one of her pupils. I think it will make for an interesting read.

I usually have several books started at once. Right now I've got James Patterson's "You've Been Warned" on my treadmill, and "YOU: Staying Young" on the nightstand by my bed, and Wiley's Not-For-Profit GAAP 2007 that I'm carrying around with me.

I starte Stephen Kings Dark Tower Series many years back. I was reading it as he was writing it, then for some reason he stopped for a while so I went on to other things. Now it is complete so I am starting over with the "Gunslinger".

I'm doing a re-read of Smart Couples Finish Rich, and I want to start the Mitford series. I've heard lots of good things about the books and I'm finally starting. I also have a Jodi Piccault book called The Tenth Circle I want to read this month. If I finish those, I have several romance novels for filler.

My stack is so large! I think I will start with The Year Of The Goat by Hathaway and In The Company Of Cheerful Ladies by McCall Smith.

Julie and Julia : 365 days, 524 recipes, 1 tiny apartment kitchen Powell, Julie.

    At first sight Sparks, Nicholas.

ooOo Sounds like it'll make an interesting read! What a title too.

I'm reading "Growing up Jewish in Mississippi" and still finishing up "Lies My Teacher Told Me".
