Paging Jane Austen fans!!
Check out this month's Masterpiece Theatre http://www.pbs.org/wgbh/masterpiece/austen/index.html!! It starts tonite...though IMVHO, the best is yet to come....the A&E version of "Pride and Prejudice". I loved the recent movie remake(can't beat it for music and gorgeous scenery), but this one has Colin Firth(the guy from Bridget Jones' Diary) as Mr. Darcy

. He doesn't just PLAY Mr Darcy...he *IS* Mr Darcy. Sigh.

I am so thrilled that we're going to get to see this version of Pride and Prejudice again. When it was originally aired DH and I were just glued to the TV (yes, DH liked it too). And oh my goodness, Colin Firth in that wet white shirt......

You mean THIS one

Yes, I actually googled "Colin Firth wet white shirt"...found lots of articles(written by women) just drooling over that shirt. There's also an interview with CF, entitled "Just don't mention the wet white shirt"...LOL

I have been waiting for this since December! Did you catch Jane Eyre last weekend? It also aired in December.

Thanks for the heads up. I've got just about every Jane Austin program on tape. Including several older verisions of P&P. I noticed 2 books at Books -A-Million after Christmas entitled Letters from Pimperlee. Has anyone read them yet? I know they weren't written by Jane but I'm wondering if they are any good.

ROFLOL!! Yup...and the daughter must be "formerly wealthy,at risk of losing her home, an old maid at the ripe old age of 27(gasp), and pining for a love she lost due to the fact that social classes can't mix, and when they reunite, it must always be during a torrential rain"! Helps too if there is one woman named Anne and another named Elizabeth, with a handsome military officer who made his money in the war
And yet, I fall for it hook, line and sinker. Watched "Persuasion" last nite like I'd never seen it before, cried at the end, and couldn't believe how handsome Capt. Wentworth was!
OOhhh, and for "I love Chocolate", a friend sent me this....Mr Darcy plays air guitar in leather pants

I'm excited for Northanger Abbey! It's not her best book but I always thought it would be the most fun to film with all its attending silliness

I can't wait!!
