Default What songs make you cry?

I found myself crying in the car today when Springsteen's "Sandy, Fourth of July, Asbury Park" a live version came on. It's the end of summer blues and it always reminds me of growing up at the shore. Peter Paul and Mary's "Leavin' on a jet plane" and Dan Fogelberg's "Another Old Lang Syne" get me everytime too, sometimes Billy Joel "Goodnight Saigon" along with plenty of country songs. What about you, what songs make you cry? Why?

Tears in heaven is a tear jerker
You were mine by the Dixie Chicks
    Don't Cry Daddy by Elvis
I would also say Leaving on a Jet Plane
I'm already there, by some country dudes
Faithfully by journey (mom's favorite band) so anything by them is sad to me...
That's all I can think of right now, but there are a few.

Tears in Heaven makes me cry, too. Michael W. Smith's tribute to the Columbine H.S. victim, Cassie Bernall causes me to cry. I can't think of the name of the song.

Let me add "Wind beneath my wings" and "She didn't know she kissed a hero" I think that's the name.

The one by John Michael Montgomery about the little girl. The words alone will chill your heart.

"When the little girl stared at a picture of him, up there on that cross, she said, "I don't know his name, but I know he got off. 'Cause her was there in my old house, he held me close through the night. As I hid there behind our couch, the night that my parents died."

Gosh, I probably messed up the lyrics a bit, but I still got the chills, so I bet you get the point.

Don't Take the Girl by Tim McGraw - I was pregnant with our first child and emotions were running rampant.

I think it's called "Shannon" from around the late 70's or early 80's. It's about a dog...."Shannon is gone...she's drifted out to sea...she always loved to swim the waves...." la, la, la

    Anyway, you may remember....

    Rhonda
