Default Anyone watch Dr. Phil today?

OMG hoarding is such a sad sad thing. I hope the family on today's show gets the help they so desperately need. Those children, beautiful children caught up in this nightmare.

I've worked on these types of home before. It is terribly sad. What truly makes me mad is when family members show up usually after the person has been carted off to the hospital or died and they are so unaware of whats going on. Here most are older folks in their 70 and 80's! Where have they been in these peoples lives???

I have to admit, that was the worst I've ever seen. So sad . I hope Dr. Phil gets the woman psychological help. She really needs counseling and not just trucks to come and load up everything. She needs to get to the root of her problems, especially for the sake of her children.

I watched it and it was shocking. I didn't think Dr. Phil was very helpful though. Just saying, "Isn't it time to turn your life around?" isn't really going to do it. I know he can't fix everything in an hour, though. There were sooooooo many issues there.

I didn't think Dr. Phil was hard enough on them. They are abusive, neglectful alcoholics. So many issues. I've seen him get more forceful with people who don't seem as messed up. Maybe he was aware of her fragile state or something. I also didn't see 100% of the show, but I would have expected him to say you will lose your kids if you don't get help.

I was surprised that the kids weren't taken away until they cleaned up their act. That place was not fit for humans nor animals.

I didn't see this show, but often people in these situations refuse the help of family. They won't allow anyone to clean out & throw anything away. They are clear that its none of your business. Its very heart breaking to stand by & not be allow to help. I'm sure this isn't always the case, but it does happen. What can you do in this kind of situation?

I agree; this is the time for a temp. removal by the state to kinship care or foster care. It was an unsafe environment.

I finally watched this (I had taped it) and I am also surprised that the children have not been temporarily removed. I can't imagine how nasty it is there and the smell must be horrific (is that a word lol)!!
