Only spent 60 cents today in the vending machine for some licorice.
Tomorrow I plan to go NOWHERE, and stock the freezer with quick breads, muffins for breakfasts before swim practice.
I have finally registered for ebay, and plan to start selling some stuff ASAP- gotta figure out uploading photos - my 14 year old 'tech support' will be home from camp Friday!!

My frugal Wednesday
Another NO SPEND day.
-Watered the garden; waiting for the first batch of weeds to all come up, including the blanket of Siberian Elm seeds. They are all starting to sprout now, so when they're up and growing, will hoe my first weeding with my rod-weeder hoe. That way, the weeds will be utilized as a "green manure".
-Re-used coffee filter again today.
-Did laundry; bagged recyclables, saved a few plastic bottles, etc. for storing home-made body wash; tidied and organized basement.
It pays to know what and where my stuff is.
-Organized canning jars, so I know how many I have for 1 canner recipe at a glance.
-Used a freebie liquid laundry detergent packet to launder 2 loads.
-Spent a lot of time online; important for internet interaction in my groups regarding serious medical issues.
-Had spaghetti and canned tomatoes for dinner and supper.

Other than paying the guys doing some fencing work for me, I didn't spend any money today. I was at work all day, so didn't have time to do much that I can count as frugal around the house.

My frugal Thursday
1. Woke and dressed very early; had 2 coffees and reused filter
2. Did laundry with minimal amount of detergent; cut some fabric softener sheets into 3 pieces per sheet
3. Cooked a turkey; then cooled and separated turkey into 5 bags for freezing, 2 plastic tubs for fridge, 1 meal, 1 large bowl of broth (strained) and 1 small tub of tiny bits & pieces for turkey soup.
4. Cooked 1 pk of Lipton Sidekicks rice with 1 cup of brown rice for a large pot of mixed rice
5. Organized the cupboard under the sink; put all plastic grocery bags into empty Kleenex boxes; saved all newsprint (free from house flyers) and tore it into large squares to use instead of paper towels for messy kitchen/cooking clean-ups; also flyer papers and a plastic grocery bag are used to line kitchen garbage bin. Now I know how many cleaners and scrubbers, etc. I have.
6. Cut down 4 plastic milk jugs to use for seed pots or containers for growing tomatoes
7. Went for mail --nothing; stopped into Thrift Shop for a $3 Bag Sale and got 19 items of new/looks-like-new summer clothing for $3.
8. Watched a VCR movie
9. Ordered coupons and a freebie off internet websitesLast edited by Incognito; 07-03-2009 at 01:34 AM.

My frugal Friday
-Got up long before sunrise, as soon as the first bird chirped.
-Got dressed for gardening, had 1 coffee on the patio, saved the coffee filter for later.
-Worked till 2 PM in the garden area, and front borders: weeding, hoeing, hand-picking weeds in all the containers (they were carpeted with Siberian elm seedlings), swept off seeds from all outside planters & pots, swept most of steps and patio free of seeds, dug weeds out of patio block cracks, saved all the Siberian elm seedlings in a huge pail & watered seeds for more more green manure, watered garden, moved ornaments, swept sidewalks & rocks, bagging & removing garden trash, planted 2 more pots of beans to sprout & then transplant later
-Took large garbage bag of recyclables to the curb for pick-up
-Had breakfast at 2 PM
-Rested while watching a favourite VCR movie
-Got the mail, just a bunch of junk
-Did laundry on the soak cycle to clean better with less detergent
-Had frugal and delicious supper of turkey, mixed-rice & cranberry sauce
-I've been keeping a small bowl in the kitchen sink filled with warm water and 1 drop of detergent to wash hands in; this saves a lot of water and wear & tear on the faucet-washers
-Making plans for frugal Saturday and next week: crochet gifts, sort summer clothes, sort clothing to be used for other projects, will make a list later.
-NO SPEND DAY
