I've found that the towels did not get as clean and fresh as I would like them to be, so back to the normal temp. However, I accidentally washed another load of towels on the normal temp but forgot to put detergent in, and they felt and smelled great! Maybe that's what I should do every so often: wash hot, but without detergent.

Giving the dog and cats 1/2 their food for each day. The vet says they all need to be on a diet.

BUMP
With the state of the world economy
& our OWN economies at home-
I though it might be a good time to revisit just another way to help stretch those budgets

I definitely need to re-read thru this thread and get my own act together

So far today I have:
Given the cats 1/2 the amount of canned food I normally do for b-fast & lunch (and it must be working 'coz they licked their bowls clean each time and now I don't have to soak the crusted leftovers out of them for next time)...
I myself ate 1/2 the amount for lunch that I normally would (and I am still alive to talk about it)...
I drank 1/2 as much tea as I normally would and drank double the water...
Used 1/2 the amount of body lotion and mixed in a little olive oil to make a smaller amount go further and feel silkier & smoother
Using 1/2 the amount of clothing today 'coz I am still in my comfy's and haven't gotten dressed and don't intend to since I am going nowhere today. That's less laundry in the basket till tomorrow.
Needed batteries, dug out the rechargeables and got them going. I am figuring I used way more than less than 1/2 on that one

I really like this idea because I think most of us consume far too much of everything

I am going to be more conscious of things today.
Great Idea

Great ideas, I'm using 1/2 a sugar free water flavor pack to a large glass....full packet tooo sweet anyway. Bought a bottle of ammonia for cleaning and saved the old empty...just poured 1/2 in and filled them up with water. You got me thinking.

While not exactly 1/2 - Dh got only 2 eggs in his scrambled eggs this morning instead of the usual 3 - (no, don't feel sorry for him - he also had toast, 2 pieces of sausage & a banana)...
I usually have the TV on in the background while working on my puter- today I left it off. I figure the TV was on half the time today...
My cats love treats and I love to give them to them. They have a full sized human cookie jar (of a cat of course) on the counter (full to the brim of course) and when they hear the lid of the ceramic come off they come running for their cookies (yes, that's what we call them)...anyway- usually they each get about 5-6 at a time (told you they are brats) but lately I have been giving them only two each. (Yes, they have gotten over it)...

Only filled the tub 1/2 as much for my bath...worked just fine.
Washed my hair only once...I think that whole repeat think is silly
1/2 the amount of mouthwash...just sloosh a bit longer
let my hair air dry for about an hour, cut down the hair dryer time.

and funny you mentioned the mouth wash - I just brushed my teeth and took 1/2 a swig of mouthwash and thought "I need to go tell the village about this"...lol

Used 1/2 the amount of bleach in the washer today...
Dried the items 1/2 the time (don't use the dryer much except for winter time) but I took the stuff out early and let them 'finish off' with the room temps..
Trying to eat 1/2 as much as usual...
Went to grab some grocery bargains today, thought about hitting the St.Vinny's but that would require a little longer drive - so that means I drove 1/2 as much today...
Went out in the pouring rain to save 1/2 the usual price I pay on boneless skinless chicken breasts but there was a one day only sale for $1.39lb so I went for it...

Turned the space heater off when I went to work..ran 1/2 as much today.
