    The rest of today...

~ I did sew up the napkins. Went through my other napkins and put the permanently stained or holey ones in the rag pile.
~ Cooked supper from scratch, and had leftovers to freeze for another meal. My stockpile of meals is growing larger!
~ A friend came over with popcorn and a DVD set - "Planet Earth". We popped the popcorn, made some tea, and settled in to watch the DVD.
~ I realized I'd seen them before, so I pulled out my drop spindle and spun while watching them a second time. The yarn is going to be used to knit a hat for DH.
~ Working on grocery receipts and trying to figure out how to save money on groceries to put in our sinking fund.
~ DH picked up some vitamins and medicine for me on sale on the way home. Good man!
~ I worked out at home today.

That's all I can think of at the moment.

Yesterday I stayed home most of the day except to run to Aldi for a few things we are running out of. The maintenance guy came for our FREE annual check on our washer.
    Not much else.

    Monday 1/4

Monday just wasn't a very frugal day for me. I had a dentist appointment for my cleaning and couldn't get anyone to watch the kids for me. So, I had to take the three youngest to the drop in daycare. The kids LOVE going there and we haven't been since our package ran out in early fall. I had to pay for the dentist up front, pay for the childcare and put gas in the van since DH had been using for all his little trips here and there over his Christmas Holiday.

    Otherwise,
    ~ heat set at 64
~ wearing layers and using blankets to keep the chill off
~ fire in the fireplace in the evening to warm up the living areas
    ~ all meals at home
~ dinner was stew using lots of frozen leftovers from this and that
~ reading library books & knitting for entertainment

    For the past few days...

*Taking lunch, coffee, and snacks to work.
*Using my french press at work to make additional coffee
*Used a Pier One GC to get my candles (we were out) and got the half off in clearance ones.
*Won a Tree Hut price pack - I figure it worth $50 or so. I might use some of these, might use them for presents. (Body scrub, body lotion, body butter, etc. 5 piece set)
*Set up more stuff in MS Money. I'm taking over the bill paying this year, but I am setting up a few things at a time.
    *Printed out some coupons
*Cashed out on a survey site for $25
*Found $.50 in the parking lot

    tuesday:

spent most of the day running errands...picking up sale items, missing ingredients for recipes, cat food...bank, post office, court w/a former tenant....

when i wasn't shopping in the stores i was out there 'beating' the rent out of tenants....tis the time of the month....i am beginning to hate the first 2 weeks of every month...it's like getting a root canal over and over... all the drama that people have in their daily lives is just amazing....good thing i don't have too much in my own life coz they are all more than willing to share theirs....

took some surveys and paid to clicks this afternoon....

    all meals from home....
heat at 55...(we have a winter storm coming tomorrow...ugh)....
will spend the evening watching mindless tv and 'chilling'......

“After the last tree has been cut down, after the last river has been poisoned, after the last fish has been caught.
Only then will you find that money can't be eaten.”

    ~ Cree Indian Prophecy

    Let's see...

~ spent the day analyzing grocery receipts looking for ways to cut back,
~ worked out at home with a DVD,
    ~ Leftovers for lunch,
~ used leftovers to create a new meal for supper. It was to die for!
~ DH and I walked to a nearby restaurant for dessert and tea/hot chocolate. It was our date night/frugal night out this week. We paid for it from our allowances.
~ I've been turning the computer off when I haven't been using it.
~ Made sure all the lights and power bars were off in the house before heading out...except our one inside security light and the two outdoor lights to show us our way through the snow in the yard.
~ Watching library DVD with DH for entertainment.
~ Surfing my RSS feed links to see what's new in the blog world.

    Tuesday 1/5
    Much better day than Monday:
~ lights off, except for reading light in Family Room to work by
~ heat set at 65 and wearing layers
~ at home until afternoon when I had to drive girls to their activities (close to the house)
~ went to the grocery store for mid-week perishables while out - only spent $13
~ Dinner was husbands creation that used a lot of this and that from pantry/freezer and was very good!! He loves to get in the kitchen and just create meals.
~ popcorn for evening snack while watching football game
~ I've been reading my library book for entertainment

    Yesterday
    Spent no money
    Only necessary electric
Everything unplugged possible including coffee pot when done
    No unnecessary water ran..well water..pump
Walmart bags for trash..don't buy bags
Microwave used for heating up vs stovetop
Heat on for about 1/2 hour to warm up house
    Permanent coffee filter

    Today so far
Got up at 6:45, made coffee and started dryer and new load laundry before 7. Unfortunately it was still going after 7. Don't know what's with that.
    Took shower before 7.
    Coffee pot unplugged when done
    Permanent coffee filter
Everything else will be pretty much the same
Maybe another laundry/dryer load after 9
Supper will be from stockpile/freezer and/or pieces in fridge

Heat is now on. No one can take it. We're already all sick. Supposed to be down to between 24 and 28 for several days. Rather have a few dollars more on the electric bill than a couple hundred for doctors and meds. So much for Florida...
Bank of America is THE godfather of Hell with Wells Fargo running neck and neck. When the world ends the only things that will be left are cockroaches, Walmart, Wells Fargo and Bank of America. Not necessarily in that order. The order remains to be seen.

Yesterday I went to the doctor for my elbow. Spent the $20 copay. However, he gave me samples for the anti-inflammatory. No cost there. Otherwise, didn't spend anything.
This morning, carpooled to an environmental presentation. Interesting stuff, I'm always learning.
