OK - wow - how did I miss this thread in 2011? Well, I'm here for 2012!

Yesterday not a frugal start to new year - bf and I were a smidge under the weather from some over imbibing Sat night and so we ate out twice - Arby's for lunch; pizza for dinner. Well, at least we picked up instead of delivery, LOL

    Today:
Detaching elbow from bathroom sink pipe - have tried several methods to unclog - but now just have to clean it out rather than buy more expensive products
Throwing vinegar in laundry to help get the body oil out, making sheets/clothes last longer
Packing up stuff for GoodWill - tax deduction for next year
Organizing which helps me see/use what I have instead of feeling like I need to buy more
    Eating from food stock
Thawing a whole organic chicken to cook tomorrow (one of 10 I bought on sale from Whole Foods in 2011)

    Goals:
Lose 25 lbs (exercise at least 3 times/wk/eat healthy)
    Spend less
    Save more $ in ES
    Frugal challenge
    Do three things daily
    One new recipe a week
    Prep for zombie apocalypse

I love this - I always make a bunch of pancakes, then micro them during the week for a quick, healthy and frugal breakfast. I'm going to make pumpkin pancakes tomorrow.

Aside from the normal, I sewed up the holes in my favorite sweater. I'd been wearing it just around the house, but I really love it and want to start wearing it to school now that it's finally getting cold. However, there was no way with the holes in some of the seams. Now, it's good as new, and it's a great sweater. Going to wash it tonight so I can wear it to work tomorrow! Much better than buying a new one that I don't love as much!

    Sunday and Monday

    - Went out yesterday morning to go to church. Got there to find out we weren't having church so since we were already out DH decided to stop by store to pick up a few things we were out of. Kids decided while they were there to buy toys using their Christmas money. I wish I had had extra money to spend yesterday - almost all the toys were 50% off or more. The same toys I spent $20 on for Christmas were marked down to $9. I could have bought a bunch of toys and put up for next Christmas

    - Went and ate New Years lunch with family instead of eating out

    - Picked up two papers for coupons plus got my grandma's coupons. Now I just have one more family member that gives me coupons that I have to pick up inserts from.

    Today

    - Lights off as much as possible

    - Cashed out a survey site for $20

    - Printed coupons off the web and threw away all expired coupons

    - The weather has gotten cold again so unfortunately running Central Heat/AC more than I did last week
Mom to DD (10) and DS (8) - wife to DH for 12 years.

and my 3 furbabies - Fred, Sugar and Socks
