I also made homemade waffles for DS's breakfast and made a bunch of extra so I can freeze them for breakfasts later this week and next!
May Goals:
Only $300 for groceries this month - $206/$300
Monthly coupon/valued customer savings = $14.08
No wasted food!
Stick to budget!
Track spending DAILY
Get checkbook balanced
Save $200 toward EF: $85/$200
2012 FV Challenges: Try New Recipes Challenge: 22/52, Menu Planning Challenge: 21/52, Grocery Reduction Budget Challenge, Change Jar Challenge: $27.81 as of 1-14-12, Lose A Pound A Week Challenge: 3/48, No Wasted Food Challenge
2012 Goals
2. Snowball the CC payment into Sears Credit Card bill (no interest) and get it paid off ASAP.
1. To pay off CC (only $917.15 left!) and never again charge more than I can pay off each month.
3.Snowball the CC and Sears card payments into hospital bill (due w/ Baby #2 via C-section in mid-January). Pay that off ASAP.4. Snowball payments into DH's student loan (as of 12/4/11 there's still $4770.84 remaining). Pay off by 12/31/12.
5. Keep our grocery budget to $300 each month.
6. Use Dave Ramsey's budget sheet and get on track with this each pay period.
7. Get and keep checkbook balanced and keep an eye (weekly if not daily) on our e-statements.
8. Get savings account up to $8,000 (incl. emergency fund)
9. Make 2 Christmas gifts per month: 0/24.
10. Get our home organized: use a receipt book, keep my coupon organizer in check, have a touch-once policy for paper (touch once and then file or toss).
11. Achieve "give or get" goal of $1500 for the board I serve on by 9/30/12.
12. Taxes filed by March 17.

OK - wow - how did I miss this thread in 2011? Well, I'm here for 2012!
Yesterday not a frugal start to new year - bf and I were a smidge under the weather from some over imbibing Sat night and so we ate out twice - Arby's for lunch; pizza for dinner. Well, at least we picked up instead of delivery, LOL
Today:
Detaching elbow from bathroom sink pipe - have tried several methods to unclog - but now just have to clean it out rather than buy more expensive products
Throwing vinegar in laundry to help get the body oil out, making sheets/clothes last longer
Packing up stuff for GoodWill - tax deduction for next year
Organizing which helps me see/use what I have instead of feeling like I need to buy more
Eating from food stock
Thawing a whole organic chicken to cook tomorrow (one of 10 I bought on sale from Whole Foods in 2011)Last edited by gottadance; 01-02-2012 at 12:13 PM. Reason: added to list
Goals:
Lose 25 lbs (exercise at least 3 times/wk/eat healthy)
Spend less
Save more $ in ES
Frugal challenge
Do three things daily
One new recipe a week
Prep for zombie apocalypse

1/2/2012
*staying home = no gas used and no spending
*spent the morning working on the 2012 budget. Added additional categories to save for home repairs, car repairs, clothing purchases and vet bills. Am hopeful saving toward these items will help us to keep on track of what we really spend a year on these items
*counted coin jar and decided to save it for trip to visit my son in Boston in the summer
*goal list for the week completed. Contains several frugal tasks
*dinner will be left over ham and cabbage soup, LO hard rolls and LO cheese and crackers for snacking
Will post more later if I actually manage to DO anything today! I am sure lazy right now

Aside from the normal, I sewed up the holes in my favorite sweater. I'd been wearing it just around the house, but I really love it and want to start wearing it to school now that it's finally getting cold. However, there was no way with the holes in some of the seams. Now, it's good as new, and it's a great sweater. Going to wash it tonight so I can wear it to work tomorrow!
Much better than buying a new one that I don't love as much!

Sunday and Monday
- Went out yesterday morning to go to church. Got there to find out we weren't having church so since we were already out DH decided to stop by store to pick up a few things we were out of. Kids decided while they were there to buy toys using their Christmas money. I wish I had had extra money to spend yesterday - almost all the toys were 50% off or more. The same toys I spent $20 on for Christmas were marked down to $9. I could have bought a bunch of toys and put up for next Christmas
- Went and ate New Years lunch with family instead of eating out
- Picked up two papers for coupons plus got my grandma's coupons. Now I just have one more family member that gives me coupons that I have to pick up inserts from.
Today
- Lights off as much as possible
- Cashed out a survey site for $20
- Printed coupons off the web and threw away all expired coupons
- The weather has gotten cold again so unfortunately running Central Heat/AC more than I did last weekMom to DD (10)
and DS (8)
- wife to DH for 12 years.
and my 3 furbabies - Fred, Sugar
and Socks
