    Default Frugal Challenge Jan. 11-17

    Good morning!

Heat was down to 64 all night. It's on 66 now, and it's only 10 degrees outside. It's not too bad in here. DH will probably complain when he gets up.

Did 3 loads of laundry last night-using precious off peak time for the dryer.

Today all meals will be from the pantry. Raechel has a basketball game at 5:00, so that messes up dinnertime. I have to be creative. Maybe homemade pizza for kids and I, DH has leftovers from our dinner out the other night he can eat.

    Will add more later

    Adding more for today...

Did 3 more loads of laundry, but did 1 load of just fleece stuff, which I hung in the bathroom.

Raechel came home sick, so I'm giving her free Tylenol and fluids. I'm pretty sure it's viral, but I may have to call out tomorrow. Thank goodness for sick time.

    Stayed home all day.

Turned off unnecessary lights. Heater is on 67 despite the cold outside. I found that just about when I get chilly, the heat kicks on. Tonight will be a real test. As soon as the sun goes down, it's going to get bitter cold.

Clipped some coupons for a small trip later in the week.

Clipped lots of coupons/made my grocery list

finally used some more of the rice from the HUGE costco bag we have to make a dish using up some veggies that needed salvaging before going bad

took a long nap during the day so we didn't use any electricity during that time

i think that's all i did today...I wish I could turn our heater down a lot lower but dh freaks out if I just want to lower it to 72

We went to a wedding reception (good friends and yummy snacks! ), so had to pay a bit for a sitter. We had meals at home.

There shouldn't be any $ spent here today. It's a work day for both dh and me, so that helps! Lunches were packed from home, and dinner will most likely be leftovers. I cooked up a huge turkey yesterday, so guess what we'll be eating. Dh and I both have sandwiches made on leftover hamburger buns today - if we didn't get them used up they were going to go bad.

    No $$ spent here today.

    ~heat turned down
~blinds will be opened as soon as kids wake up
~making bread today rather than running to the store
~making homemade soup for supper from leftovers

I need to find some more ways to save though. Once again, were very concerned about dh's job. The pork industry isn't doing well right now.

Home today with a sick DD

Usual laundry rules today. I hope to only do 2 loads and hang some in the bathroom to dry.

Blinds are open, but there is no sun. Heater is on 66 as it's supposed to be a little warmer today.

Went to Shoprite for a few "sick day" items, ginger ale, jello, yogurt, etc but all items were on sale.

I'm gonna try a homemade bagel recipe I found in a magazine. If it works out, I'll post it.

    Lights are off.

Dr. visit for Raechel was free cause I work there. Tylenol samples are also free. You must know how much this HELPS my budget! Can't beat the work perks.
