I have a gift certificate for a grocery store, and they have some really good bargains this week. I'm going to head up there today.

Leftovers for lunch, and I think I'll bake cookies for SO's lunches this week.

Baking a chicken and I'll probably freeze some of it.

    Hi all!

~ use mattress heating pad rather than turn up the heat at night. Just leave it on for 10-15 minutes to warm the bed. Then crawl in.
~ dress warmer rather than turn up the heat during the day.
~ track all car trips to determine where the gas is going!
~ arrange errands so they're all in a loop...no backtracking!
~ laundry with hm laundry detergent and hung dry.
    ~ maintain grocery exile.

    Sept 18 & 19

didn't end last week on a frugal note but this is another week! On Saturday, travelled 1-1/2 hours to the city to get decent bedding (we had feathers and lots of sinus and allergy problems). $400 later!!!!:surprise: But our sinuses are much better and the old bedding went to our spare bed because the feather bedding is still good and wonderful (except for my nose and sinuses!!!)

~ This week, baked snacks for DD for school snack time

~ Yesterday and today, all meals at home

~ Had to buy ballet shoes for DD for dance....$24.00

~ Walked through town to put up posters and deliver order forms for the skating club

~ Kept heat off and let sun warm house

    ~ laundry in cold water

~ Hopefully this will stay a much more frugal week !

    Have a great day...
    Tamara

    Posting for a couple days.

~no heat first thing in the morning, although we've had frost 2 mornings in a row.
~got gas in the nearest town yesterday. It was 99.9ยข a litre rather than $1.13 here in town. We were out to see a bird sanctuary as entertainment yesterday afternoon. It was free and we got cheaper gas too boot.
    ~baking bread today
~neighbour gave us more deer meat
~friend gave me a box of ripe tomatoes along with 4 zucchini and a number of cucumbers last night.
~digging up more potatoes from our garden today
~no lights, tv or radio on when not in use

baking in the morning for the heat

crockpot cooking during the day instead of using oven for supper

    using up my drygoods.

Monday is frugal day in my house anyway. SO, lights off, heat off, no money spent etc....

I designated it so last week adn it seemed to work pretty well. I figure if I have one day where i'm TOTALLY skinflinty then the rest of the week's normal frugality will be even more useful.
